Heidi Santa Maria-3 Year Lead Teacher I love teaching the developing minds of curious three's because they soak up information like a sponge. My favorite part of teaching three year old students is the surprise and excitement in their eyes when a new discovery is made or when they marvel at their wonderful art. I also enjoy watching them progress from playing alongside each other to playing with each other and gaining a true sense of what it means to be a friend.
My main goals for the class are development of social skills through play; gaining independence through self-help(stowing personal items, going to the potty, washing hands, handling coats/shoes); understanding of community by contributing to classroom cleanup time and paying attention during circle time; and development offine motor skills though art projects (using scissors, gluing, painting). In the 3 year old class we also focus on numbers 1-10 and basic shapes through art and books, gross motor skills through song and dance, and name recognition at cubbies and the snack table. Most importantly, we have fun!

Meg Morris: 3 Year Assistant Meg loves teaching preschool. Her background is as a high school chemistry teacher with a masters in chemistry from Georgia Tech and a masters in education from Georgia State. She sometimes doesn't see much of a difference between teenagers and 3 year olds! A native of Pittsburgh, PA (go Steelers!) she's an alum of Georgia Tech and lives in Decatur with her husband and three kids. When she's not shuttling them around town, she enjoys playing the piano, singing, and planning vacations for her family. "Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts." Colossians 3:16
